The money has already been transferred to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Agriculture, according to her (DA). The P2.5 billion fund would assist over 377,000 eligible PUV drivers. Farmers and fishers would gain from the P500 million.

PUV drivers who operate jeeps, UV Express, taxis, tricycles, and other full-time ride-hailing and delivery services around the country would be eligible for the fuel subsidy. Under the fiscal year 2022 General Appropriations Act, the amounts were levied from the DOTr and DA’s normal budgets.

The Department of Transportation’s fuel subsidy program would give cash assistance of PHP6,500 to all affected jeepney drivers. Drivers of UV express, minibusses, buses, shuttle services, taxis, tricycles, and other full-time ride-hailing services such as transport network vehicle service (TNVS) and motorcycle taxis, as well as delivery services around the country, were all eligible for the subsidy.

The subsidy can be claimed using cash cards from the Landbank of the Philippines by the listed 377,443 recipients. The Department of Agriculture’s (DA) fuel discount program seeks to give gasoline savings to farmers and fishermen who own agricultural or fishing machinery, either individually or via groups.

Fuel discount cards (FDCs), which will be distributed in collaboration with the Development Bank of the Philippines, will be used to claim the discount. The recipients can use their FDCs to obtain a maximum gasoline discount of PHP3,000 from the contracted oil firms or petrol stations.
