Rogelio Sikat Famous Works – Some Of The Writer’s Masterpieces

Here are some of the famous works of Rogelio Sikat, one of the most famous Filipino writers in Philippine literature.

ROGELIO SIKAT FAMOUS WORKS – These are just some of the awarded and most famous works of Rogelio Sikat.

Rogelio Sikat is “Rogelio Sicat” in real life. He attended the University of Santo Tomas, one of the most prestigious college institutions in the country, to pursue his degree in journalism. He served as a writer for the university’s official newspaper, The Varsitarian, and he was known for his love for literature.

After finishing his degree in journalism, he furthered and continued writing for his love and passion in doing it. He became a writer for a newspaper and magazine. Aside from that, he was also a professor. formerly, he was teaching at the University Of The Philippines and later on accepted deanship for the same institution of the College of Arts and Letters department.

He died in 1997 due to cancer. And for one last time, he was recognized and awarded by the Manila Critics Circle National Book Award for his translation of William J. Pomeroy’s work into the title Ang Gubat: Isang Personal na Rekord ng Pakikilabang Gerilya ng mga Huk sa Pilipinas .

The three short stories he made that received a Carlos Palanca Award were Impeng Negro (which also won the first prize in Liwayway magazine’s best short story), Tata Selo (the second prize in 1963), and Moses, Moses (in the year 1969).
