Update on Rules in Cinemas under Alert Level 1

CINEMAS – The theaters in areas that are under the Alert Level 1 including Metro Manila may now allow the moviegoers to bring food and eat while watching films.

The COVID-19 pandemic urged the Filipinos to live under a new normal setting for more than two (2) years now. It was just recently that the restrictions in the Philippines started to loosen following the decrease in the daily cases recorded in the country.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, most students are under blended learning. The lessons are delivered to the students through online classes and modules instead of the usual face-to-face classes. Many offices and businesses also implemented work-at-home schemes.

Unfortunately, many lives were lost due to the pandemic. A lot of businesses also shut down and a lot of people lost their source of income amid the crisis.

Among those that were restricted from operating amid the high cases of COVID-19 in the country were cinemas. The movie industry was greatly affected by the pandemic. Meanwhile, the country is now in the recovery process from the crisis.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, cinemas in areas under Alert Level 1 may now allow moviegoers to bring food inside the movie theaters and eat. Previously, it was not allowed and gaps between moviegoers are implemented inside the movie theaters.

According to the report, all businesses under Alert Level 1 are allowed to operate in full capacity. Proof of vaccination may be required upon entry to indoor establishments. Under Alert Level 2, cinemas were only allowed to operate at half of the capacity of the movie theater.

The Alert Level 1 is the loosest curb. The whole Metro Manila and several other cities across the nation are under the said measure from March 1 to March 15. To check the restrictions under it, you may visit – Alert Level 1: List of Restrictions in Metro Manila, Other Cities under this Curb.
