Leni Robredo Roasts BBM For Not Attending CNN PH Presidential Debate

VP Leni Robredo stressed the importance of attending presidential debates

Vice President Leni Robredo roasted former Senator Bongbong Marcos for not attending the CNN Philippines presidential debate.

Once again, UniTeam’s BBM did not attend the presidential debate. His running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte skipped the vice presidential debate as well that was held on February 26.

The absence of the BBM-Sara tandem was also slammed by vice-presidential candidate Warden Bello who called them “cowards.” On February 27, VP Leni Robredo also slammed Bongbong Marcos, the only debate absentee, based on the report from Rappler.

For the Vice President, presidential debates and forums will determine how the Filipino people will see the characters of politicians, aside from the fact that it is also a venue for the candidates to present their platforms.

“‘Yung number one ingredient din ng leadership, aside from character, is you show up in the most difficult times. ‘Pag hindi ka mag-show up in the most difficult times, hindi ka lider,” VP Leni Robredo said.

She also stressed that through this presidential debate, Marcos can answer the issues being thrown at him and that he should not hide from these. “Kaya para sa ’kin, ito ‘yung pagbibigay-halaga at respeto sa taumbayan na maghahalal sa’yo,” the Vice President said.

On the day of the presidential debate, Bongbong Marcos and the UniTeam had their campaign event in Pangasinan. To recall, this is not the first time that the former Senator did not attend the presidential debate/forum.

Meanwhile, during the CNN Philippines presidential debate, VP Leni Robredo also explained the reason why she decided to run even though she previously stated that she will not run again.
