Sen. Manny Pacquiao Wants to Increase Minimum Wage of Workers
MANNY PACQUIAO – The PROMDI standard-bearer vowed to increase the minimum wage if he wins president in the Election 2022.
Senator Manny Pacquiao is one of the 10 presidential candidates in the upcoming May 2022 Election. He is the standard-bearer of PROMDI and he had his proclamation rally in General Santos City last February 8, 2022.
The proclamation rally of the boxer-turned-senator gathered his family, friends, and supporters. He vowed to help uplift the lives of the poor if he wins the upcoming poll. He has always been vocal that he knows the situation and the struggles of those who are living in poverty because he himself experienced it.
As the campaign period has officially started, Sen. Pacquiao is currently busy visiting cities and provinces to campaign for the upcoming election. Recently, he went to Quezon City.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Pacquiao visited Balintawak Market and Farmer’s Market in Quezon City and did his own “Saan Pupunta Ang P5K Mo?” challenge. He bought a supply of basic goods for a family of four for one month.
Sen. Manny Pacquiao was able to purchase vegetables, fish, chicken, eggs, and condiments. However, it was only good for 20 days and he was also not able to buy meat with only P2.00 left from the set budget. He stressed that P5,000.00 is usually the amount left from the minimum wage of a worker in Metro Manila after paying the household bills.
Based on the report, Sen. Manny Pacquiao vowed to increase the minimum wage of workers if he wins president in the upcoming election. He wants “salary standardization across the board”. He stressed that the reason why there are a lot of people coming to Manila to work is that the salary is higher in the Metro compared to the wage in the province.
Reportedly, aside from helping the workers and the vendors in the province, he is also planning to give incentives to those who would invest their money in the businesses in the provinces. He wants to exempt them from tax for five (5) years.
