Supporters of Leni Robredo did this to her political rival
Videos are circulating online showing that presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos became a victim of the expression of fervent love that supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo have for her.
On February 23, the UniTeam, headed by BBM and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte held a caravan in Negros Occidental before a rally was held in Bacolod City.
Through the videos posted online by supporters of Marcos and his team, it can be seen that a lot of Negrenses welcomed him warmly. Many vehicles also joined the caravan.
However, it is a fact that VP Leni Robredo also has a lot of supporters in the said province in the Visayas Region. While shaking hands with the people waiting for him on the street, Bongbong Marcos experienced an untoward incident.
In an area in Negros, many supporters of VP Leni occupied the side of the street with her posters. While BBM was trying to reach the hands of the people, even though it was obvious that they were supporters of his opponent, flyers were thrown at his face.
One of the apparent supporters of the Vice President who was there posted an explanation on Facebook. FB user Rachel Antoinette said that it was a mere expression of free speech. She also reasoned out that the flyers reached the face of Bongbong Marcos because of the guards who were trying to prevent them to go near the vehicle of the presidential candidate.
“I say he deserves it. After what Negros has gone through, the Philippines struggle, the violence towards dissenters then and today,” the supporter of Vice President Leni Robredo said.
Many supporters of BBM expressed negative reactions to what happened as they called the supporters of VP Leni “bastos”.
