Isko Moreno is willing to work with Ping Lacson if he wins the presidential race

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said that Senator Ping Lacson is “an asset of the country” during a recent interview.

The mayor and the senator are both running for president in the 2022 elections. In a recent interview that was shared on the Twitter account of the Philippine Star, Moreno said that he is willing to appoint Lacson as anti-corruption czar if he wins the presidency.

When asked if he sees the possibility that other presidential candidates will work under his administration, the mayor had a positive answer. “For example, si Senator Ping Lacson. Si Senator Ping Lacson is an asset of the country,” Mayor Isko Moreno said.

The presidential candidate under Aksyon Demokratiko said that the Senator has a “skill set” that is beneficial in solving the problem of the country. He added that he believes Lacson can do this.

On the other hand, the Mayor said that he will just cross the bridge when he gets there because he does not know yet the result of the election. Moreno specifically mentioned the ability of Lacson to fight corruption and focus on discipline in the government.

If he wins, Moreno said that he will indeed want to work with Lacson. For the meantime, as the elections has not transpired yet, Mayor Isko Moreno said, “ayokong maliitin ang aking mga katunggali, ang lahat ng kandidato pagka-presidente o kandidato for that matter, may chance manalo,” he said.

Meanwhile, Moreno’s camp said that he was not worried by his decision to skip the presidential debate organized by SMNI (Sonshine Media Network International) run by religious leader Apollo Quiboloy. Lito Banayo, the mayor’s campaign manager, said that the viewership of the network is not that high.
