Isko Moreno does not regret not attending the SMNI presidential debate
The campaign manager of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has this statement regarding the absence of the presidential candidate during the debate organized by SMNI (Sonshine Media Network International).
Four presidential candidates chose not to attend the presidential debate on the TV network run by religious leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is now on the wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Manny Pacquiao, and Ping Lacson have released statements stating their reasons why they chose not to attend the presidential debate of SMNI.
In a statement, based on the report from News5, Mayor Isko Moreno’s campaign manager Lito Banayo said that the decision of the presidential candidate to skip the debate does not worry them and he stressed the small number of SMNI viewers.
“Meron ba nanonood sa SMNI? Di ba? Hindi naman siya major outlet- I mean, I’m sorry, I have to say this magalit na ‘yung magagalit sa akin dun sa SMNI but that is the reality,” Banayo said.
The campaign manager of Moreno also said that they cannot postpone previously scheduled activities just to give way to the presidential debate of SMNI. Banayo also stressed that it is not easy to ask permission from the Commission on Elections to conduct campaign events in provinces.
He said that Mayor Isko was already scheduled to go to Samar and this campaign in the province in the Visayas region was already postponed several times already.
Meanwhile, in a recent report, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto reacted to the claim of Aksyon Demokratiko chairman Ernest Ramel Jr., that he approved the presidential bid of his party mate Mayor Isko Moreno. The young mayor reiterated that he does not want to involve himself in national politics.
