4 Armed Individuals in Tondo Arrested for Pretending to Be Policemen

Police authorities arrested four (4) armed individuals after they allegedly pretended to be policemen in Tondo, Manila.

According to the report of Manila Police, four males were detected having guns and pretended to be officers which lead to their arrest. They persisted in entering a condominium on Velasquez Street in Tondo, Manila, according to authorities.

The four allegedly pretended to be police officers and members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in order to get entry. The security guard at the apartment was skeptical, so he demanded confirmation that they were cops, but they were unable to produce identification.

As a consequence, the security guard approached the patrolling Manila Police for assistance. The individuals were carrying high-caliber firearms with ammunition and were unauthorized, according to an inquiry by Manila Police District 1.

The four suspects are currently charged with breaking the Comelec weapons ban, unlawful guns and ammunition possession, and Usurpation of Authority. Meanwhile, officials detained a guy who pretended to be a military and stole P40 million from a Ponzi scheme.

According to Police Captain Noel Seno of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) -Cavite, the suspect also claimed to be a member of the Philippine Armed Forces (AFP). An AFP identity card with the rank of Captain was also produced by the man. When they checked, the CIDG captain said, they learned he wasn’t a regular member.
