The government of Quezon province will give a double pay to government employees who are single on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day or also known Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated every February 14. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine.

The Heart’s day is celebrated worldwide and it has been already a part of Filipino culture and tradition wherein couple usually spend time and give gifts to each other. This day is also special to many couples.

Quezon Province

A certain town in Quezon province has decided to reward the workers who have no partner this upcoming Heart’s Day. The employees will receive a double amount of their regular wage.

The local government of General Luna in Quezon province released an executive order announcing that single employees who will report to work on February 14, 2022 will receive double pay.

The executive order aims to recognize and acknowledge the single employees who will report to work. The employees just have to fill out a form from their executive department.

The local government unit explained that the program is an example of their “innovative governance”, which is important. The government also said that it is not necessary that executive orders will come from the book.

Single employees who will not report to work during Valentine’s Day will be on leave with pay.
