Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla Allegedly Pays Campaign Expenses of Husband Robin
Senatorial aspirant and former action star Robin Padilla admitted that his wife Mariel Rodriguez pays for his campaign expenses.
In her most recent vlog of actress Aiko Melendez, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla expresses her full support for her husband Robin Padilla’s Senate campaign in 2022. Robin revealed in the video that her spouse was spending money on her campaign.

Mariel’s revenue from her butcher store company, he added, is derived from the sale of t-shirts and tarpaulins. This is reported to be what he gives away whenever he travels to other locations.
Mariel, on the other hand, stated that this was supposedly a present to her husband since she did not have a lot of money to spend on a Senate campaign. She said that they only produce a limited number of shirts and other campaign materials since that is all they can afford.
“Kapag nagpapagawa kami ng t-shirt pakonti-konti lang kasi ‘yun lang ang kaya namin. Nu’ng birthday, Christmas at ngayong Valentine ‘yun ang gift ko sa kanya. Kasi wala talaga kaming pang campaign,” Robin’s wife confessed.
Padilla, meantime, has disputed that he is running for senator to make money, claiming that his position as the “Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema” ensures that he would never be out of employment. He stated that politics has no money and that he is not the type of guy who seeks money.
He came into politics, he claims, because he truly wants the change he has been advocating for so long. Padilla likewise refused to be labeled a politician, instead of describing himself as a “revolutionary” who wants to see the country move to a federal government.
If he is elected, the actor has stated that he would prefer to serve on one of the Senate’s oversight committees. Padilla, who is running for president under the ruling PDP-Laban party, said he has yet to name a presidential candidate.
