Moira dela Torre held a benefit concert for typhoon Odette victims
Kapamilya singer Moira dela Torre witnessed a devastating scenario in Palawan after typhoon Odette’s onslaught.
Several celebrities and popular personalities took to social media their story about the strong typhoon that hit the Philippines last December. This calamity left many Filipinos homeless and regardless of status in life, many people suffered from the devastating effect.
Personally, Moira had experienced seeing the aftermath of the typhoon. “Jason (Marvin) and I personally were able to see, [including] I Belong to the Zoo, a few days ago ‘yung nasalanta sa Roxas, Palawan,” the singer shared during the By Request: A Benefit Concert last Saturday, January 15, based on the article in PUSH.
The said event 10-day virtual event started on January 9. Every concert session featured different artists of the Kapamilya network. Last Saturday was Moira dela Torre’s turn to give entertainment and help the victims of typhoon Odette. She shared, “Nakita po namin sobrang daming bahay na walang bubong. Sobrang dami pong pamilya na nakatira sa may gym.”
Moira asked the public to donate as millions of families were affected. “As we speak more than 1.4 [million] families are left with almost nothing so if you have anything in your heart, any amount will really, really go such a really long way,” the Kapamilya singer said.
During the benefit concert, Moira sang her famous songs Tagpuan and Paubaya. She also performed the songs You’re Still the One, Fly Me to the Moon, and I Won’t Last a Day Without You. Other artists who already did this benefit concert were Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, and Darren Espanto.
Meanwhile, last year, Moira dela Torre released her new “hugot” song with the popular duo Ben & Ben. It was called Pasalubong.
