Paliago’s Malasakit Party-List Removed from 2022 Elections Final List – Comelec

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has removed Celine Paliago’s Malasakit party-list from the final list 2022 elections.

Malasakit was excluded in the final listing of party-list candidates due to the resolution of its “pending incident.” The notice was issued by the Office of the Clerk of the Commission (OCOC).

According to the notice, the OCOC advises that party-list registrant Malasakit Movement Inc. (Malasakit Movement) has been omitted from the final list of party-list candidates to appear on the ballot in order to fulfill this mandate. In light of the conclusion of the ongoing incident, the removal was purportedly in conjunction with the May 9, 2022, National and Local Elections.

“In performance of this mandate, the OCOC hereby notifies that party-list registrant Malasakit Movement Inc. (Malasakit Movement) has been excluded in the final listing of party-list candidates to appear in the ballot in connection with the May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections in view of the resolution of its pending incident,” the notice read.

Celine Pialago, a former spokesman for the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, is Malasakit’s first nominee. Mark Ryan Ponce, Eusebio Simbajon Avancena Jr., Natasha Supan Rodriguez, and Monroe Laurenze Dimaano are among the other nominees.

The Comelec has decided to disregard ballot number 96, which was originally awarded to the Malasakit Movement after a lottery. The Malasakit Movement was once one of the 13 party-list organizations facing charges.

The Comelec has given 165 party-list groupings the opportunity to participate in a drawing on December 10, 2021 to select their order of appearance on the official ballot. During the general elections on May 9, 2022, voters can only vote for one party-list group.
