Ogie Alcasid Made a Song for Presidential Aspirant Leni Robredo
The OPM Legend Ogie Alcasid has released a song for his 2022 elections presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo.
Ogie, an award-winning singer-songwriter and music producer, has published the song “Handa Ka Na Ba Kay Leni” in favor of Robredo’s candidacy for the 2022 election. The veteran singer chronicled the Filipinos’ hardships and journeys in the song.

The music video for the song, which was released on January 2, 2022, begins with images of Typhoon Odette’s aftermath. The video’s dismal tone is created by gray shots of debris-strewn streets and demolished businesses.
As the rhythms came in and Ogie began to sing the words, the video changed to color and became more upbeat, with shots of the vice president’s fans infused with her characteristic pink ribbon emblem. After all of the struggles we’ve faced in recent years, Ogie expresses his hope in the song, a picture of a bright future that rests in our hands.
“Lunod na ang ating bayan, sa tindi ng mga unos. Bumangon na tayo, bumangon na tayo,” sabi ng isang bahagi ng kanta habang ipinapakita ang ilang bidyo ng pagsadya ni Robredo sa mga lugar na matinding sinalanta ng bagyong “Odette,” the lyrics said.
In the song, Ogie also asks how long Filipinos will remain tolerant and oblivious to the country’s plight. Robredo’s candidacy in Election 2022 was described by Alcasid as “a fresh morning to look forward to and a new hope for our people,” and he asked everyone to act for the future.
