Lifeless Body of a Newborn Baby Found in an Irrigation Canal in Nueva Vizcaya
Police authorities recovered a lifeless body of a newborn baby after it was discovered by a farmer in an irrigation canal in Nueva Vizcaya.
The baby was already dead when it was discovered in an irrigation canal in Barangay San Luis, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Solano report. Farmers who were meant to maintain their irrigation in the paddy field observed the infant, according to Police Capt. Roger Visitacion, Deputy Chief of Police of the PNP Solano.

According to the report, the infant recovered was a boy. There’s also a hint or clue that it’s only a newborn. According to Visitacion, the baby’s umbilical cord is attached to his body, as determined by the MHO (Municipal Health Office).
Maybe he was lifeless when he got out, and his parents didn’t rush him to the hospital or anything since, according to Visitacion, there was no funeral and he merely drifted there. The police did not rule out the possibility of “unwanted pregnancy” as a factor in the baby’s death.
“We are coordinating with the barangay health office sa adjacent barangay kung ano ‘yong record nila ng mga nagpapacheck up ng possible na nanganak na o kabuwanan para ma-check kung either isa sa kanila ang may kagagawan,” said Visiticion.
Police are now trying to figure out who the baby’s parents are, as well as who dumped the baby in the irrigation system. The baby was buried right away in Solano’s public cemetery.
