Beauty Gonzalez planned to go to Siargao
Kapuso actress Beauty Gonzalez revealed that she almost became one of the victims of the strong typhoon Odette that badly affected the island of Siargao.
Beauty obviously loves the beach. Her social media followers can notice this. The actress loves to share her beach photos and expresses how the sea, sand, and being under the sun affect her mood.
Based on the article in Bandera, Beauty already planned her beach getaway and she wanted to spend a vacation in the surfing capital of the Philippines. If this plan materialized, the actress might have experienced the “hagupit” of the typhoon in Siargao.
“I was supposed to go to Siargao, but I changed my mind kasi I remembered birthday ng mommy ko,” the actress shared. Beauty also shared that her mom told her that she should be in Dumaguete for the birthday celebration.
She went to Dumaguete and fortunately, the city in Negros Oriental was not badly affected by the typhoon. “Blessing in disguise, we were not that really affected like Siargao, but there are some places in Negros also that got affected,” the Cebuana actress said.
Beauty is also thankful that the fence in their farm was the only thing that was destroyed by the typhoon but they still experienced its strength. Another thing that she is thankful for also is that the people working on their farm were also safe.
“We were blessed that it’s not as bad as Siargao. But still, they need help also, and until now kailangan pa rin,” the actress said. However, the actress shared that there are still areas in Negros that need help as power and water supplies are not yet restored.
Because of the typhoon, it took a long time for Beauty to return to Manila. She was not able to join the Fluvial Parade Of Stars for the MMFF 2021. She did one of the episodes in the horror entry Huwag Kang Lalabas.
