DOT to Probe 3 Hotels Offering “Absentee Quarantine” Packages
The Department of Tourism (DOT) is now investigating the three (3) hotels that are allegedly offering “absentee quarantine” packages.
After two patients evaded obligatory quarantine, the DOT is now looking into other hotels that provide “absentee quarantine” packages. According to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, the names of the three hotels that have agreed not to quarantine their visitors have already been collected.
“We’ve been hearing of a modus operandi na babayaran lang tapos magpapakita ang on the fifth day ng swab because if you’re fully vaccinated you’ll get swabbed on the fifth day,” said Puyat.
“There are only a few hotels. Ang na-identify pa lang ay two to three hotels,” she added.

Two individuals from America who just arrived in the Philippines are said to have escaped through the mandatory quarantine process to have a good time. Gwyneth Anne Chua, better known as “Poblacion Girl,” is one of the people detained for quarantine breach.
Gwyneth apparently fled the quarantine hotel and went to a party with her friends. She tested positive for the Omicron version later on. Aside from her, the infection was also found in several of her acquaintances and hotel workers.
