Agot Isidro, Pokwang, Ogie Diaz Not Included on Cyber Libel Case for Lashing Bautista
Actress Agot Isidro, Pokwang, and talent manager Ogie Diaz were not included on the cyber libel case after chastising Representative Claudine Bautista.
In the cyberlibel lawsuit brought by Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) Representative Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim, the seasoned actress, comedienne, and talent manager are safe. The three are among those who chastised the congresswoman for her extravagant wedding.
Prosecutors in Davao Occidental said in a statement that what Agot, Pokwang, and Ogie said was protected by ‘freedom of expression,’ so they can’t be charged with cyber libel. According to Davao Occidental Provincial Prosecutor Marte Velasco, their tweets are mere expressions of disapproval.
“Considering that these tweets are mere expressions of disapproval (or disgust, if you may) at varying degrees on the action, this Office could not attribute malice and ill motive to the said respondents who have taken upon themselves to be the so-called watchdogs of our society,” said Marte Velasco.

Meanwhile, they noticed something else in Enchong Dee and speculated that the actor could face cyber-libel charges. The prosecutor believes that labelling someone a thief without proof and with significant malice is where the line should be drawn because it is already defamatory.
It will be recalled that Ogie, Pokwang, Enchong and Agot criticized the wedding of Rep. Bautista held on Balesin Island. They took their personal accounts on the social media to chastised the expensive wedding and outfit of Bautista.
“That gown alone can feed hundreds of families of displaced drivers. And you’re representing which sector again Cong Claudine Bautista? ” Agot wrote in her tweet.
“Ok what? the driver’s representative class ha… turned Michael Cinco wedding gown… edi wow !! BONGGA KA DAI!! BONGGA KA DAI!! Beep! Beep! tabiiiiiii !! ang masagasaan edi sorry… ” tweeted Pokwang.
“Grabe si Ate na representative ng mga drivers. Baka naman me accomplishment siya during pandemic, pakilatag resibo,” Ogie said his post.
Bautista was one of those who investigated ABS-CBN when it was trying to renew their franchise, based on the previous report. The actors involved in the said case have not yet given a response.
