Street Sweeper Uncle Passes Away After Stabbed by Own Nephew Due to Misunderstanding

A young man stabbed his street sweeper uncle in Caloocan City who eventually died after suffering from serious wound.

Last Monday (December 28, 2021), a street sweeper in Caloocan City has been found wounded and lifeless at Talakitok Street in Barangay 22. The victim has been identified as Art John Mijares.

According to Rocel Ignaw, partner of Mijares, the victim’s 20-year-old nephew named Jeff Amigan was the primary suspect for the incident. The suspect immediately run away to escape the crime.

According to the investigation, the suspect and the victim had an exchange of heated argument around 11:30 pm, which leads to further feud. The incident prompted Amigan to stab his own uncle.

“Umakyat po sa gate yung asawa ko, pagbaba po ng asawa ko nagtalo sila ulit, tapos sabi ng pamangkin niya ‘ano ba gusto mo? Away? ganito ganyan. Pumasok yung pamangkin sandal sa loob bahay nila tapos tinakbo na po siya ng saksak,” Ignaw said.

Rocel immediately asked for help as her husband try to run away to avoid further injuries. She also revealed that Mijares and Amigan have a close relationship with each and she did not expect the incident.

Ignaw doesn’t have an idea regarding the real cause of the feud between the two. “Hindi ko alam kung bakit sila nagtatalo,” Ignaw said. The suspect’s family has already leave their home.

The police authorities will launch follow-up operations to locate the suspect.
