MRT-3 Announces Free Rides on December 30 (Rizal Day)
The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) is offering free rides to the Filipino commuters on specific hours December 30, 2021- Rizal Day.
The management of MRT has released an advisory to the public announcing the free rider that will be offered on Thursday (December 30, 2021). The free rides will be only available on specific hours.
MRT explained that the free rides to the Filipino passengers is a way of their commemoration and honor to the national hero Gat Jose Rizal. The rail management wants to provide limited free service to remember the heroism of Jose Rizal.
“Ang libreng sakay ay bilang pakikiisa ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 sa paggunita at pag-alala ng buong bansa sa kabayanihan ni Gat Jose Rizal,” MRT wrote on their post.
The free rides will be only available from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm during the holiday. The management also reminded the passengers to properly observe the health protocols.
Commuters are still required to wear face masks, observe physical distancing measures, and refrain from eating, drinking, and talking inside the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the first train from North Avenue will depart as early as 4:40 am while the first train from Taft Avenue will start the operation at 5:26 am. The last train will leave North Avenue Station at 9:30 pm. and Taft Avenue Station will have their last trip at 10:16 p.m.
