Willie Revillame did another charitable endeavor
Wowowin host Willie Revillame donated P9 million to the victims of typhoon Odette on the island of Siargao in Mindanao.
Willie is just one of the many celebrities in the Philippines who have been doing charity works for people who became victims of calamities and disasters in the country.
Based on the article in PEP, on December 22, the game show host went to the surfing capital of the Philippines to personally give his donation. Kuya Wil extended cash aid to nine municipalities in Siargao worth P1 million each.
In his speech, Willie Revillame promised to Filipinos who are in areas greatly affected by the typhoon that he will visit them also. “Nandito po ako, actually hindi ko po alam na darating ang ating mahal na Pangulo at ang ating mga cabinet members at ang mahal na senador,” he said.
Kuya Wil also said that if he was able to go to Siargao, it would be possible for him to go to Bohol as well. It is known to many that the TV host has 2 helicopters that could be easily used for his transportation.
To recall, Kuya Will took flying lessons to be a helicopter pilot. He previously said that one of his reason behind this was his intention to help other people in remote places.
“Tapos sabi ko nga, gasoline lang ang kailangan ko ho, maghahatid lang kami ng mga pangangailangan sa mga barangay,” he said adding that he knew about the situation of people in Siargao through the program of veteran journalist Ted Failon.
After that, he contacted Senator Bong Go and President Duterte to ask permission to visit the barangays on the island. “Dito po ako magpa-Pasko,” Willie Revillame shared.
He also stressed that the P9 million donation came from his own earnings and he is sharing his blessing with the people in need. “For almost two years, awa ng Panginoon, hindi ako nahinto sa programa,” the TV host said.
