Odette Death Toll Now Over 300, Thousands More Displaced

ODETTE DEATH TOLL UPDATE – The onslaught of Typhoon Odette has left at least 300 individuals dead.

Typhoon Odette is the strongest typhoon that hit the Philippines in 2021. According to experts, Odette was stronger than Yolanda in terms of its range of devastation.

Not only did Odette hit Visayas but parts of Mindanao as well. Because of this, more than 630,000 people are left displaced.

Based on data from the e National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), more than 273 towns and cities lost power. Fortunately, 149 of these areas had their electricity restored.

However, 371 areas still are still having cellular data connectivity issues. Furthermore, a lack of water in many areas is still prevalent.

As of today. the NDRRMC reported damage to 348,000 homes. Furthermore, P3.9 billion worth of infrastructure and P2 billion worth of crops and other agricultural sectors were ravaged.

During a visit to Puerto Princesa, President Duterte told residents:
