Kris Aquino ‘Paalala’ to Typhoon Odette Victims Slammed By Netizens

Actress-host Kris Aquino has this “paalala” to the victims of typhoon Odette in Negros Occidental and netizens slammed what she said.

Although Kris has not joined politics, she will somehow always be involved in political matters. Her parents Ninoy and Cory Aquino were two of the most powerful political personalities in Philippine history.

Aside from this, her late brother, former President Noynoy Aquino was also a famous political figure. With this, it is inevitable that her name will be included in political issues. Kris Aquino has always been open also when it comes to her political stand and just recently, she started showing her support for presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo.

During the charity efforts that VP Leni did in Negros Occidental, Kris joined her. In that said event, the actress-host delivered a speech in which she had her “paalala” to those who received help from their relief efforts.

Kris stressed that what she donated came from her personal money. “Pera ko po ‘yan, hindi yan galing sa kahit kanino dahil mahal ko po kayo. Mahal na mahal ko po si VP Leni,” she stressed.

Then, the celebrity who earned the tag “Queen of all Media” said that people should remember who helped them. “So, sana maalala niyo kung sino po ang tumulong sa inyo sa oras ng inyong pangangailangan. Dahil po yan sa pagmamahal namin sa lahat ng mga Pilipino,” Kris Aquino reminded the typhoon Odette victims.

On December 22, the name of Kris topped the Twitter trend. Many netizens commended her for extending help to the victims of the recent calamity. However, it was also noticeable that many netizens slammed her statement that for them, sounded like she is asking something in return for the help that she gave.
