MMDA Earns Praises Online For Giving Free Helmet & Christmas Gifts to Motorists & Traffic Violators
MMDA distributes free helmet and other types of Christmas gifts to the motorists and traffic violators along EDSA.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is an agency of the Republic of the Philippines implementing the planning, monitoring and coordinative functions along the road concerning purely local matters.
The agency covers the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Malabon, Taguig, Navotas and San Juan and the municipality of Pateros.
The Facebook page “Gadget Addict” has shared the video footage of MMDA personnel giving free goods and gifts to motorcycle riders along the road. The video goes viral and elicits comments online.
In the video, it can be seen that the MMDA traffic czar Edison Bing Nebrija and his colleagues were apprehending motorists including traffic violators. Nebrija lectures the violators especially those who were wearing damaged or substandard helmet.
The MMDA chief gives free helmets to the motorists who were wearing damaged or substandard helmet. He is also giving free gloves and biscuits to other motorcycle riders traveling along EDSA.
Aside from give free goods to the motorists, the agency also visits Children’s Hospital and give free Jollibee meal, muffins, blanket and toys.
