Why this plan of Willie Revillame did not push through?
Wowowin host Willie Revillame announced that he wants to produce a sitcom that will feature John Lloyd Cruz and Andrea Torres but this did not materialize.
After the guesting of Lloydie in Kuya Wil’s show, the latter shared that he wants to produce a sitcom for the A-list actor. The veteran host even said that he wants Andrea Torres to be the leading lady of the new Kapuso actor.
However, after months of waiting, it was revealed that this would no longer happen but John Lloyd is doing a sitcom which GMA line produced. In a recent interview for JLC’s new sitcom Happy ToGetHer, based on the article in PEP, the actor was asked what happened to that project that Willie Revillame planned.
When JLC and Direk Bobot Mortiz was asked about this, it was Joey Abacan, First Vice President for Program Management, who answered the question.
The TV executive said, “Nakausap ko si Willie, sabi ko, ‘Wil, kami na lang. I know that you’re going to be helping us because, you know, natuwa kami dahil si John Lloyd is finally coming here.'”
Abacan also said that they also talked to Direk Bobot and the conversation went well. “Willie is very busy with his show and that’s the reason why ang sabi namin, ‘Halika, let’s try it out muna,’” the Kapuso executive added.
He also said that at first, it was a partnership between Direk Bobot, John Lloyd, Kuya Wil, and GMA but he said, “Ang ending, we wanted to line produce it.” With this, the TV executive said that their decision was not wrong.
It was also revealed that John Lloyd will have another show in the Kapuso network aside from his sitcom that is set to start airing on December 26.
