Kapamilya actress Maris Racal revealed the reason why she accepted her unconventional role in the series The Kangks Show.
Many showbiz fans knew that Maris has done wholesome roles in her past movie and TV projects. However, many might be surprised by her new series project with Angelica Panganiban.
Based on the article in PUSH, during a recent interview, Maris said that many would be surprised by her character because she swears a lot. Aside from the fact that this series openly talks about the intimate part of a relationship, Maris said that this is really humorous.
“As in ibang level. Ganun yung humor ng script niya. Ganun yung humor ng The Kangks Show. As in kanalan,” the actress shared. The 24-year-old actress also said that she was drawn to her unconventional character. For her, this can be also a voice that would influence the mindset of people in her generation.
In the series, Maris Racal’s character is an influencer, TikToker, and vlogger. “She’s very empowering, sobrang $=x positive niya, very funny.Thankfully, after ko nabasa yung script,” she shared. The actress added that her character made her realize that people have different views when it comes to intimacy.
Maris pointed out that there are those who really want it to be with love, however, there were those who just do this just for fun. “Para sa akin itong script na ‘to sobrang totoo niya kasi yun na din yung view ko matagal na. So thankful ako na hindi niro-romanticize yung iba’t ibang bagay sa series na ‘to,” the actress said.
The Kangks Show will start streaming on WeTV on December 17 Friday, 8 pm. Also included in the cast are JC De Vera, Kit Thompson, and Angeli Bayani. This is written and directed by Antonette Jadaone.
