Pet Monkey Given Cocaine, Then Abusive Owner Tried To Flush It Down Toilet
PET MONKEY GIVEN COCAINE – A heartwrenching scene went viral on social media after an abusive owner attempted to flush her pet monkey down the toilet.
Monkeys are among the smartest animals in the world. And, they make for amazing companions. However, because of this, monkeys are sometimes made as pets.
Recently, a woman identified as Vicki Holland uploaded a video of her shouting, swearing, and laughing as she flushed down her pet marmoset down a toilet. But, this was only after she offered it cocaine.
Luckily, authorities quickly acted, and Holland was banned from keeping animals forever. Furthermore, authorities sentenced the woman to 12-weeks in jail.
During her court appearance, Holland pleaded guilty to three offenses. As such, she needs to pay £420 in costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
Based on an article from BBC, Sophie Daniels of the RSPCA said:
Videos from the defendant’s phone showed Holland offering the marmoset cocaine, while another showed the clearly terrified marmoset down a toilet bowl
The petrified animals struggled to survive as it was being pulled by the pressure of the toilet. In the video, you could see the desperation in its eyes. A vet confirmed that the monkey severely suffered unnecessarily due to its previous owner.
Thankfully, the animal had been placed under the care of the RSPCA. Now, the monkey was placed under the care of specialists and primate experts in Monkey World in Dorset.
“Thankfully, this monkey is now getting the care they deserve after such shocking mistreatment“.
