IATF Approves Nationwide Mock Elections To Ensure Safety & Contact Of Halalan 2022

IATF APPROVES MOCK ELECTIONS – The Interagency Task Force (IATF) recently gave the go signal for the nationwide mock elections on December 29.

Ahead of the election day, the IATF said the mock elections seek to ensure safe and effective protocols are in place come the election in 2022. Based on an article from Inquirer, presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said:

Inaprubahan din ng IATF ang mga rekomendasyon ng technical working group. Una rito ay ang request ng Comelec na magsagawa ng nationwide mock election exercises sa December 29, 2021

Meanwhile, according to the National Board of Canvassers, Comelec Director Teopisto Elnas Jr., the mock elections won’t be a survey of who is currently in the lead but an “end-to-end demonstration” of the entirety of the national elections.

However, the COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez notes that the mock polls would include real people, and thus real voters. Furthermore, it would also use real Boards of Election Inspectors.

Still, some are questioning why the mock elections were placed so late in December. As a response, Comelec said that they can no longer push back the schedule due to the funds included being for 2021 and not 2022.

Moreover, the Comelec said that it would include 100 actual registered voters for each area. Meanwhile, the voting centers would be designated by the Comelec.
