LGU Gives Vaccinated Cebu City Residents Raffle Prizes
VACCINATED CEBU CITY – The residents in Cebu City who have received their COVID-19 vaccine may win a house and lot or a brand new car.
The Philippines has yet to achieve herd immunity or population protection against COVID-19 thus the government and the health authorities continue to encourage the people to get vaccinated. Truth be told that many people are still hesitant over the vaccines as they fear the extent of the side effects.
Different vaccine brands arrived in the country. Some of the brands include Sinovac, Sinopharm, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Sputnik V, and Janssen. Some of the vaxxes were procured while others were donated. Only the Janssen is the single-dose vaccine.
Some of the authorities expressed support in making the vaccination mandatory. Meanwhile, a part of the population is visibly against it. On the other side, some government bodies turned to “positive reinforcement” in encouraging the people to get vaccinated.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, vaccinated Cebu City residents may win big prizes from the raffle. Not only appliances and motorcycles are being away but as well as house and lot and cars.
According to the report, 40 pieces television sets that are 32″ wide were given away. Some vaccinated Cebu City residents also received sacks of rice via the digital raffle held for the fully-vaccinated residents under Bakuna Bonanza program.
For the employees of the Cebu City hall, the LGU vowed for a Christmas bonus to be given to those who are vaccinated against COVID-19. Mayor Mike Rama stressed that “the way to liberation is vaccination, the way to the release of bonus is vaccination”.
The Cebu City Mayor is hoping that all employees of the LGU will take his pronouncement seriously. A pop-up vaccination was done inside the City Hall for the vaccination of the employees.
