Ikea Offers $1 Per Month On Tiny Tokyo Appartment
IKEA $1 PER MONTH APARTMENT – Swedish furniture makers, IKEA offers people a place to live in Tokyo for less than $1 per month.
Obviously, IKEA has been known as the go-to place for easy DIY furniture and other retail needs. However, IKEA is now delving into the world of real estate as they become landlords in Japan.
So, what exactly can $1 get you in Tokyo? According to ton an article from CNN, you can get a 10-square-meter (107-square-foot) apartment.

The apartment itself can be found in the Shinjuku district and costs 99 yen ($0.86) per month. However, as of writing, only one unit is available. And, it’s decked out with Ikea furniture and accessories.

Currently, Ikea is accepting potential tenants over 20 years old. Meanwhile, the deadline for the application is until December 3.
Additionally, the apartment would be rented out with a lease through January 15, 2023. Along with this, the tenant needs to pay their own utility bills.
But, 10 square meters obviously isn’t much. As far as tiny apartments go, this one is sure to be among the tiniest.
Still, the company believes it’s livable. On its website, Ikea said: “One of the keys is to make good use of the vertical space,“. “By capturing the room three-dimensionally, new possibilities open up in a limited space“, it added.
