Teenage Boy Dies of Electrocution During Valentine’s Day
A 16-year-old boy teenage boy tragically lost his life due to electrocution on Valentine’s Day in Sibonga, Cebu.

On Friday (February 14, 2025), a young man dies in a tragic accident on Valentine’s Day, near Heritage Plaza in the Poblacion area of Sibonga, Cebu. The victim, identified as John, was a resident of Sitio Manga, Barangay Bahay, in the same town.
According to the initial investigation, the local government had organized a Valentine’s Day disco party at the covered court in the area. John, along with a group of friends, was walking toward the event when the accident happened.

As they made their way to the venue, he accidentally stepped onto an electric junction box. His right foot made contact with the box, resulting in an electric shock.
Bystanders acted quickly and rushed John to Deiparine Community Hospital in an effort to save him. Sadly, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead by the attending physician upon arrival at the hospital.
Local authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and address any safety lapses that may have contributed to the tragedy.
