Bea Alonzo was first offered to be a calendar girl in 2007
Kapuso A-lister Bea Alonzo revealed the reason why she turned the offer of liquor brand Tanduay to be its calendar girl back in 2007.
Bea successfully paved her way to stardom from being just among the many talents of ABS-CBN. With good projects, she was able to establish her name as one of the sought-after leading ladies on TV and in movies.
It is quite an addition to the credentials of many celebrities to be featured as calendar girls of certain liquor brands. Bea is now added to that list of female celebrities.
Just recently, Tanduay revealed that the prominent actress is its calendar girl for 2022. In a video shown during the launch, Bea Alonzo revealed this is not the first time that she received an offer from a popular liquor brand in the Philippines.
She said that after she did her iconic movie One More Chance with fellow A-lister John Lloyd Cruz, Tanduay presented her the calendar offer. That was in 2007. However, Bea politely turned that down.
Aside from the confidence factor, the actress revealed that she was not ready yet to embark on that kind of journey in her career. “Because at that time, I wasn’t ready yet. Maybe I was at that point in my life where I wasn’t that confident yet and parang hindi siya aligned dun sa gusto kong mangyari at that point in my life,” she said.
So when she received the new offer, through her manager, Bea grabbed the opportunity.“So when I was asked the second time, parang everything was just falling into place and I felt empowered. I felt like I was ready for change. I really couldn’t think of reasons why I shouldn’t do it, so I said yes,” the actress said.
Bea Alonzo prepared for this stint by going on a healthy diet and working out. She shared that Tanduay did not tell her to do these kinds of preparation, she obliged because she wanted to be the best version of herself in doing this project.
