Man Who Posted Let Leni Leni Lead “Fudgee Bar” Kit Arrested
LENI FUDGEE BAR KIT – Authorities recently arrested Manuel Mejorda, the man who posted the viral “Fudgee Bar” Caravan kit.
Mejorda posted that those who joined received “incentives” in the form of one (1) Fudgee Bar, a sticker, a face mask, and a hundred pesos bill. However, Robredo’s camp quickly proved this was false.
In a statement, Team Leni Robredo said that they “strongly condemn any type of support purchase”. Furthermore, they called on the public to become more vigilant with regard to fake information spreading on social media.
A month after the post regarding the Fudgee Bar kit, Mejorda’s previous statements about Sen. Franklin Drilon caught up to him.
Back in 2016 and 2017, Drilon filed cyber libel charges against Mejorda. In fact, Mejorda proclaimed he was the “Number one enemy of Senator Franklin Drilon”.
On Monday, authorities arrested Mejorda, a former Iloilo City official at around 9:20 a.m. According to an article from ABS-CBN, his partner, Ruby, Mejorda didn’t get a chance to say goodbye.
But, Mejorda told Ruby to post a message for him on his social media accounts the day he got arrested:
Following his statements against Drilon, Mejorda admitted to the Senate that he had no evidence to prove his claims. Now, Mejorda is sentenced to prison for at least two years and five months with the maximum being four years and 5 months.
