Leni Robredo Air Dismay to Fake Report About Her Daughter Being Arrested in US
Vice President Leni Robredo slammed that fake report claiming that her daughter was allegedly arrested in the United States.
The presidential candidate has warned the public about fake news spreading on the internet saying that her daughter, Aika Robredo, is being held in a US prison. According to Robredo’s Facebook post, a group of people filed a letter to Harvard Kennedy School requesting that Aika’s acceptance be revoked because her tuition was paid using tainted government monies.

However, Robredo said that the request was turned down by the American-based school. Robredo further stated that because her daughter is a full scholar, her entrance to the elite school cannot be revoked.
“Noong nag aral si Aika ng Master in Public Administration sa Harvard Kennedy School, ang ginawa ng mga katunggali natin, sinulatan ang paaralan para sabihin na kailangan daw bawiin yung acceptance niya sa Program dahil ang pinambayad niya daw ay ninakaw ko sa pamahalaan,” Robredo said.
“Napahiya sila at tinawanan lang sila. Ang hindi nila alam ay full scholar si Aika. Hindi lang tuition yung libre kundi pati yung kanyang tirahan at lahat na living expenses ang covered ng scholarship. Hindi din nila alam na competitive ang pagpasok sa kurso dahil Degree Program po ito,” added Robredo.
Robredo went on to say that Aika was accepted to the school based on her qualifications, not because she was the vice president’s daughter. She then tweeted a bogus news article with the headline Aika Robredo granted Police Enquiry Bail following detention in the United States.
She also refuted any claims that her daughters were involved in criminal activity. According to Robredo, the report needs to be corrected since there are still those who believe in fake news.
“Sorry po sainyo, pero lahat pong anak namin ay masisipag mag aral at magtrabaho. Wala po sa kanilang nasa pulitika at mahuhusay sila sa mga larangan na pinasok nila. Wala pong ni isa sa kanilang na involve sa kahit anong illegal na bagay,” she wrote.
