Pinoy Musician Heber Bartolome Passes Away at the Age of 73

The Pinoy musician and Heber Bartolome has passed away at the age of 73 after batting disease for almost a year.

On Monday evening (November 15, 2021), Jesse Bartolome, the popular musician Heber Bartolome’s brother confirmed that the OPM legend has passed away. Jesse said that he received a call from Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City informing him that his brother lost its pulse.

After a few moments, the hospital management confirmed the death of the Filipino musician. The singer dies after suffering from prostate stones for over a year before his unexpected death.

Jesse also clarified that his sibling did not die to the coronavirus disease. The family will hold a burial because the OPM icon didn’t of COVID-19 but might passed away due to his illness.

The latter even narrated that Heber and its family happily celebrated the singer’s birthday last week and did not expect it.

“Oo, kagabi lang… Ito namatay si utol, Biglaan. Masaya pa kami noong birthday niya eh nitong nakaraang Tuesday,” Jesse said.

Bartolome is a band member of the famous band “bandang Banyuhay” popularized the songs “Nena”, “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy”, and “Istambay”. He is also the head of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Incorporated (FILSCAP).

Heber Gonzalez Bartolome was a Filipino folk and rock singer, songwriter, composer, poet, guitarist, bandurria player, bluesman, and painter.
