Sen. Manny Pacquiao Speaks on Mayor Sara Duterte’s Recent Moves
MANNY PACQUIAO – The presidential aspirant and Senator spoke on the recent actions of presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The recent moves of presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio hooked different reactions from the people. She backed out from the 2022 mayoralty race in Davao City. Supposedly, she will be vying for her 3rd term as the city mayor.
Mayor Inday Sara previously sought understanding from her supporters who want her to run for a national position. Many people called for her to run for president in 2022. According to her then, she wants to finish three (3) terms as Davao City Mayor.
Prior to the Davao City Mayor withdrawing her candidacy for re-election, her younger brother, Baste Duterte who is the incumbent vice mayor of Davao City, withdrew his COC for vice mayor. The presidential daughter endorsed VM Baste to be her substitute in the mayoralty race.
After withdrawing her candidacy for re-election as the Davao City Mayor, the presidential daughter left Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the regional party she founded. It triggered speculations that she will run for a national post in 2022.
A few hours after resigning from HNP, the Davao City Mayor joined Lakas-CMD party. There are speculations that it will be her ticket either to the vice-presidential race or presidential race in 2022. These recent moves of the presidential daughter hooked different reactions.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, as for presidential aspirant and Sen. Manny Pacquiao, it is not for him to judge the actions of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. He referred to her moves as their political “strategy”.
According to the boxer-turned-Senator, he and his camp will just continue to show the people what they want to do to help the poor uplift their lives. He stressed that in the end, it is still the public that will decide.
