PCG Arrested 3 Fishermen Alleged Doing Illegal Fishing in Romblon
The personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) arrested three (3) fishermen accused of illegal fishing in Cresta San Fernando, Romblon.
The three fishermen were reported for unlawful fishing in Cresta De Gallo Islet, Barangay Azagra, San Fernando, Romblon, according to PCG Sub-Station Cajidiocan. When the fishermen learned to use an air compressor as a breathing device in their fishing activity, they were aboard the motorbanca.

The fisherman broke San Fernando Municipal Ordinance No. 35-B, according to the PCG, and the motorbanca was towed ashore. A cylinder tank unit, six spear guns, three pairs of flippers, a 140-meter hose, and 30 kilos of assorted fish were among the items taken by the PCG.
The items taken from the fishermen were given over to the Municipal Agriculture Office, which would file the appropriate lawsuit. Meanwhile, the PCG apprehended seven boats that were allegedly unlawfully fishing near Cavite City.
They were on a seaborne patrol 2.5 nautical miles from Sangley Point when they spotted the vessels reportedly engaged in trawling. Because the seabed cracks whenever the boat suspects the net, this is illegal.
This allows for the capture of all sizes and types of fish, including some that should not be taken. The boats that have traveled from Navotas City have 33 fisherman on board. The boats were first seized while the investigation was undertaken due to a breach of a Cavite City rule prohibiting trawling inside municipal waters.
