Ex-Camarines Sur Cong Raging Along with Bodyguards, Resisting Cops Arrested

Authorities arrested the ex-Camarines Sur Cong Rolando Andaya Jr. for raging along with bodyguards and resisting cops arresting him.

Lt. Col. Ryan Atanacio, the police chief of Pili, Camarines Sur, has filed a criminal case against former Congressman Rolando Andaya, Jr., for pushing and insulting officers who sought to stop him from ranting. According to the complaint, Andaya allegedly went on a rampage and punched Partido Marketing Corporation employees and security officers.

Antacio filed the “unjust vexation” case against Andaya with the Camarines Sur Provincial Prosecutor’s Office following Andaya’s raging inside the compound, together with his armed men. On social media, video clips and accounts depicting Andaya’s abuse and obscenity in the encounter went viral.

Atanacio’s lawsuit contained a joint affidavit of complaint signed by Police Lieutenant Jeson Max Barcenas and Corporal Jude Pius Olivares, both of whom observed Andaya’s rudeness and disappearance. Andaya humiliated and embarrassed Barcenas and Olivares, who were serving as law enforcement officers at the time.

According to the two cops, they went to the Partido complex after receiving a complaint of a “road rage” incident on the Maharlika Highway in front of the Partido property involving Andaya. When they came, they observed Andaya yelling aggressively and attempting to approach someone, so they stopped him and told him to calm down.

However, instead of settling down, the former congressman assaulted them and yelled at them. Andaya’s apparent riot began when he rode his motorcycle in front of the Party compound and a security guard urged him to stop because he might be hit by a retreating vehicle going out of the compound.

Instead of paying attention to the guard’s warning, Andaya approached him, yelled at him, and struck him in front of numerous witnesses. According to witnesses, Andaya chastised the guard, saying, “Wag na ‘wag kang hahawak ng baril kung may kausap ka, hinawakan mo, kitang-kita ko, eh.”

When Andaya resisted and punched the guard, his armed bodyguards encircled him. Andaya’s rage did not spare even the Partido employees, according to witnesses.
