Bongbong Marcos Accused of “Idea Theft” vs Isko Moreno – Aksyon

Aksyon Demokratiko Accused Bongbong Marcos of “Idea Theft” Against Isko Moreno

The camp of presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko” Moreno accused fellow aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of “idea theft.”

Bongbong’s suggestion for an excise tax on gasoline items has been blasted by the Aksyon Demokratiko, where Moreno was the standard bearer for the 2022 election. Moreno has already promised to follow the same approach if he wins next year’s election, according to the chairperson, Ernest Ramel.

“There is no doubt that Marcos committed ‘idea theft’ from Mayor Isko. This is similar to a rich kid from Forbes Park stealing the ‘term paper’ of a poor but smart kid from the slums of Tondo,” Ramel said in a press statement.

He further chastises the Marcoses for allegedly having “thievery and fakery in their blood.” Ramel further stated that Ferdinand Marcos Sr. received bogus ward medals, while his son, the presidential candidate, allegedly received a false Oxford certificate.

Moreno recently promised to slash the excise tax on petroleum products by half if he wins the presidential elections next year during a meeting with local farmers in Tarlac City. A separate 50 percent reduction in electricity will be imposed as well.

Marcos, on the other hand, released a statement encouraging Congress to suspend the excise duty on oil products in order to aid the transportation sector, claiming that doing so would reduce gasoline prices by P10 per liter and diesel prices by P6 per liter.
