Jessy Mendiola tells the story behind her “attitude problem”
Actress-vlogger Jessy Mendiola explained the “suplada” attitude that people around noticed when she was just a newbie in showbiz.
Jessy has spent several years in the entertainment industry and she has already done several major projects on TV and in movies. Within those years, she also faced different intrigues and negative comments. One of the things that has become an attack against her personality is her supposed “attitude problem” when she was just starting her career.
In her recent vlog, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the actress addressed this issue. Jessy Mendiola explained the reason why she was not that amiable in the past. She said that it was because of the financial problems as she is the breadwinner.
“Syempre ‘pag artista ka, ang dami mong kailangang i-keep up. Isang pares ng sapatos, 50k-80k. Saan ako kukuha non? Tapos pag magba-variety show ka, makikita mo ‘yung ibang artista, ang gaganda ng mga gamit. Syempre sila may budget na tapos ako ‘yung dapat kong ipangbili ko ng sapatos, kailangan kong ipangtulong sa family ko,” Jessy said.
The actress said that because of that she became “masungit”. “‘Yung akala siguro nila nagsusuplada ako pero ‘yun pala, nasa ibang lugar ‘yung isip ko so ang ending, nagmumukha akong masungit or suplada kasi nga iba ‘yung iniisip ko. Wala ako doon sa lugar na ‘yun kasi nandoon nga ako sa rough time ng buhay ko…” she said.
Jessy also reasoned out that was part of being human and that her preoccupations in life have affected her that way. On the other hand, she said that she is not blaming other people for having those thoughts about her.
Jessy Mendiola also stressed that not just because a celebrity is a newbie in the industry, he or she should always exhibit friendliness and that her or she has no right to get tired. She added that each individual has personal battles that are being brought to the workplace sometimes.
