Family Unfollows Netizen On SocMed For Alleged Spreading Hate Vs Marcoses
FAMILY UNFOLLOWS NETIZEN ON SOCMED – As the 2022 elections creep closer, netizens are getting more vocal on social media.
However, much like all disagreements, those forged through politics are fierce. Unfortunately, this had caused rifts between friendships and sometimes, even family.
You’d often see on Facebook people posting that they’ve unfriended, blocked, or unfollowed others due to their political beliefs. Some supporters of Robredo chose to unfollow friends due to being “Marcos Apologists”.
Meanwhile, supporters of BBM have also done the same. A netizen on Reddit posted how family members shunned him due to showing support for VP Robredo.
Furthermore, he was also accused of “spewing hatred” against the Marcoses. Because of this, the members of his family unfollowed him on Facebook.
“Anti-Leni, Marcos apologist and DDS ang family ko. Malas ko naman kasi narrow-minded din sila. Ayaw nilang ineeducate ko sila dahil student pa lang din ako“, the netizen said.
According to the netizen, he’d been trying hard to educate his family. But, because he was still a student, he said that his opinion was always disregarded.
“Nagsesend pa rin ako ng mga posts sa GC namin kasi sure akong naunfollow na nila ako. Pero walang pumapansin din. I’m not giving up, I’ll still continue. I’m giving them time for now. Kaso hindi ko na alam talaga ano na mangyayare kung ganiyan pa rin sila next year“, he added.
Meanwhile, other netizens advised him that as adults, the responsibility to educated doesn’t rest on the student but on the adults. The netizen continued that we only have responsibility for our own actions and that we can’t control how others react when we try to convince them.
Moreover, the netizen added that in situations such as this, one has to decide on what’s more important, forcing others to be convinced of your side or having no ill will toward each other.
