QC Grab Driver Caught with P180k Worth of Illegal Plant During Buy-Bust Ops
Police authorities arrested a Grab driver after he was caught with P180,000 worth of illegal plant called “Maryjane” during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
In a series of buy-bust operations in Quezon City late Tuesday night, police nabbed a Grab driver after he was detected carrying marijuana, and two other shabu pushers were apprehended.

Three drug suspects, including a driver for the ride-hailing service Grab, were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations by the Quezon City Police District’s District Drug Enforcement Unit. In the initial buy-bust operation, John Kyle Villas, a 22-year-old Grab driver from UP Diliman, was arrested.
The buy-bust took occurred at the Scout Dr. Lascano corner going Scout Torillo in Barangay Sacred Heart at around 10:20 p.m., according to the report. Prior to the buy-bust, a concerned citizen allegedly informed the police about the suspect’s illicit activities, prompting the police to place him under surveillance.
Based on the report, a police officer pretended to buy an illicit plant from the suspect. Immediately after their deal, the police authorities announced Villas’ arrest.
Four bricks of marijuana weighing 1.5 kilograms and valued at P180,000, as well as a cellphone allegedly used in the transaction, were seized by police. A Honda Click motorcycle with the license plate 825UBS was also seized from the suspect, as well as buy-bust money. The suspect was arrested and charged with breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
