Ogie Alcasid is planning this charitable endeavor
OPM icon Ogie Alcasid shared that he is set to do a fundraising event for the frontliners and stressed that there is no political color in this.
Ogie, just like many artists nowadays, has been using different platforms to reach out to his audience and continue to perform amid the new normal. He and his wife Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez are using social media platforms to provide entertainment and laughter to their fans and they are doing this for free.
However, in a recent YouTube Live concert that Regine did, she felt dismayed by the negative reaction from netizens who criticized her husband due to the technical problem that happened.
Ogie was the one operating the audio system and the rest of the behind the camera works. Regine pointed out that those netizens have no right to complain because she gave them a free concert and that they have a choice not to watch it.
In line with this issue, Ogie Alcasid, based on the article by entertainment columnist Jun Lalin in Newsko, said that he does not want to pay attention to this issue. On the other hand, the OPM icon is happy to share that he will be doing a fundraising project and he intends to give the proceeds to the frontliners.
“Ask ko ang help mo. Balitaan kita sa mga mangyayari. No politics ito, tulong lang talaga,” Ogie Alcasid said to the columnist. He shared that he wrote a song that will be sung by OPM artists. Aside from this, they are organizing an online concert which will be held this coming November. With this endeavor of the singer-songwriter, his wife Regine will be his number one supporter.
