Aiko Melendez Defends Delivery Riders, Plea to Be Kind to Delivery Riders
AIKO MELENDEZ – Veteran actress defended the delivery riders and appealed to the public to be considerate to them in times of dissatisfaction.
Award-winning Kapuso actress has called on all Filipinos who love to use online delivery apps and order supplies online. Aiko is one of the well-known celebs who has admitted to using online delivery applications to get food and other needs delivered to their homes.
She admitted that, like others, she had been dissatisfied with the things sent to her home at times. Despite this, she never got into a fight with the delivery drivers or complained about their mistakes. Aiko expressed her thoughts on the matter on her official Facebook page, appealing for greater kindness and tolerance for the passengers.
“Madalas akong magpadeliver sa mga delivery food apps, Like Grab, Lalamove, Toktok at iba pa… minsan me mga deliveries sila sa akin na di ako satisfied,” the actress said.
“Pero hindi ako aabot sa oras na icall out ko pa sila. Kasi kung tutuusin unti lang naman ang kinikita nila. Dito pumapasok ung pabayaan nyo nalang ang mga maliit na bagay,” the actress added.

Aiko went on to say that, in the midst of the pandemic, delivery riders are among the most vulnerable to illness. The actress begs the audience to forget the minor details and be sensitive to the riders, claiming that she is relaxed at life than they are.
“Lalo na kapag mas nakakaluwag tayo than them diba. Nahaharap tayo sa isang situation na di naten lahat gusto, Yan ang pandemya. Maraming pagkakataon ang dami ko gusto sabihin o share na sinasaloob ko na lang lalo na kung di naman ako umaabot na maghihirap ako sa mga pagkakataon na di ako masaya sa mga maliliit na bagay,” she admitted.
Aiko encourages people not to add to the complaints because delivery riders, like everyone else, are trying to make a living. She pleaded with them to put aside minor disagreements or misunderstandings.
“Sa dami ng walang trabaho ngayon wag na tayo dumagdag sa mga reklamo na maaaring maglagay sa tao na mawalan sya ng pinagkakakitaan. Yan ay ako lang naman. Palampasin na ang mga bagay na maliit i-bless naman tayo ni Lord sa mga gawain na ganyan,” sabi pa ng aktres gamit ang hashtag na #AikoLangNamanYan,” she stated.
