Duterte Says He Doesn’t Care About Pharmally Following Probe
DUTERTE PHARMALLY ISSUE – During his taped public address, President Rodrigo Duterte said he doesn’t care about Pharmally.
Recently, executives of Pharmally were in hot waters during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committees hearing into the firm’s alleged over-pricing of PPEs. Among the big names included in the investigation was Michael Yang, Duterte’s former adviser.
However, Yang could not attend the hearing in person due to a sudden spike in his blood pressure. Additionally, another executive, Linconn Ong is under quarantine after alleged contracting COVID-19.
Meanwhile, as the probing continues, President Duterte expressed that the hearings are a “waste of time”. Furthermore, he said that he would campaign against Senator Richard Gordon due to losing his “credibility” as a lawmaker.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, Duterte said:
Instead of working, they are stuck attending hearings that last for more than 5 hours…
Tama ba ‘yang ginagawa ninyo? Are you crazy? It’s a waste of time
Along with this, Duterte also emphasized that he does not care about Pharmally. As per the article, he stated:
Para sa akin, tapos na kami. Iyang Pharmally ninyo pati droga, bahala kayo, wala akong pakialam n’yang Pharmally… You can crumple Pharmally, wala kaming pakialam d’yan
Instead, Duterte explained that he only cared about receiving the order that the government negotiated with Pharmally. But, during the Senate’s probes, there were supplies that arrived before the purchases were ordered.
