Bato Gives Advice To Pharmally Exec Getting Death Threats: “Throw Away Phone”

BATO ADVICE TO PHARMALLY EXEC – During the Senate hearing on Pharmally, high-ranking official Linconn Ong told Senators he had been receiving death threats.

But, according to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Ong shouldn’t get distracted by such things. According to an article from Inquirer, the Senator said:

Huag kang matakot diyan  sa death threat na ‘yan, patayin mo ‘yung cellphone mo, kung gusto mo itapon mo ‘yung cellphone mo, at mag-concentrate ka dito sa hearing na ito

Furthermore, Bato said that if he had received death threats from China, he should invite them to the Philippines if they wanted to kill him.

The issue on Pharmally includes billions of pesos worth of “alleged” overpriced personal protective equipment. Among the big names involved is Michael Yang, President Duterte‘s former economic advisor.

As the hearing proceeded, Michael Yang was supposed to come in person. However, he recently said that he had hypertension and that doctors advised him to stay at home. Meanwhile, Ong said that he contracted COVID-19 and is currently staying at home as well.

Bato stated that Ong should simply focus on answering the Senators’ questions well so that the hearing would flow smoothly. Additionally, blue ribbon committee chairman Senator Richard Gordon said that Ong is assured protection.

You are already protected right now may nakabantay sa’yo ngayon na OSAA  (Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms), ‘di namin aalisin ‘yan, said the Senator.
