Man Arrested for Pretending as Soldier to Loan Money from Victims and Run in Misamis
Police authorities arrested a man who was pretending to be a soldier to loan money from victims and run in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
A 23-year-old guy from Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, was arrested after he was caught pretending to be a soldier in order to borrow money and avoid paying his debts. Christian Dollen, the suspect, was apprehended in Barangay Pangasihan on Wednesday, according to a report.

Dollen purported to be a member of the 58th Infantry Battalion, according to Lt. Col Ricky Canatoy, commanding officer of the battalion. He also revealed that the suspect befriends the victims in order to lure them into debt and then flee with the borrowed money.
“He merely claims to be so that he can go about his scamming business,” Canatoy said while pretending to be the suspect.
Durign the arrest, a .45 caliber gun, a magazine, 47 rounds of live ammunition, and other firearms were confiscated from Dollen. He is set to face charges of violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Illegal/Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing In, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunition or Explosives.
The suspect and the seized materials were handed over to the cops to be dealt with properly. The 58IB also intends to bring a case against the suspect for usurpation of authority, based on the statement released against the suspect.
