BREAKING: Michael Yang No-Show At Senate Probe, Gets Issued Warrant Of Arrest
BREAKING: MICHAEL YANG ISSUED WARRANT OF ARREST – After being a no-show during the Senate blue ribbon probe on overpriced PPEs, a warrant of arrest will be issued against Michael Yang.
During the hearing on Tueday, Senate blue ribbon Committee chairman Senator Richard Gordon approved a motion to cite the former presidential economic adviser in contempt.
Back in 2017, Yang introduced President Duterte to Pharmally officials in Davao City. Pharmally is the pharmaceutical corporation that bagged over P8.6 billion in 2020. However, the company was merely several months old and had P625,000 in paid-up capital.
Due to this, Yang got linked to the issue of the procurement of “overpriced” Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). These included face masks and face shields. Furthermore, the process was made possible by the Department of Budget and Management-Procurement Services (DBM-PS) for the Department of Health (DOH) back in 2020.
Previously, two subpoena’s were attempted to be served to Yang. However, he could not be located. But, Duterte had already previously defended Yang from critics saying:
He (Yang) has contact with big corporations in China and it was through him that they made their entry here…
I thought we’re supposed to go to China and invite investors here. Now that they’ve invested in the times of pandemic, what’s wrong with that? Tell me
