Here’s what Korina Sanchez said about the 2016 election
Seasoned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez recalled the time when she aspired to be the First Lady of the Philippines and the reason for this aspiration.
For several decades, Korina has established her name as one of the most respected personalities in the field of news and current affairs. However, there was a time when she almost entered into the world of politics but not as a politician but the First Lady of a presidential candidate.
Back in 2016, Korina’s husband Mar Roxas was one of the politicians who run for the highest position in government. Based on the article in PEP, during a recent interview, the Rated Korina host recalled the election period almost six years ago.
“If you really wanna make a difference in this world—well, now, may be not in a very big way—because as a politician… And that is why also I signed up on it—the prospect of being partners with the highest leader of the land and I was all for it—kasi feeling ko, I can also make a bigger difference in that position,” Korina Sanchez shared.
She also said that her husband has the same purpose and it is to help as many people as possible. The seasoned news personality also shared that at that time, she was attacked by “trolls” opposing her aspiration to be the First Lady. Apparently, they were those who mocked her goal in 2016 to be in that prestigious position.
“Oo, gusto ko, kasi gusto ko manilbihan, may problema ka ba dun?” the broadcast journalist said to those who criticized her.
With this kind of bashing from trolls, she thought of just respecting each other’s profession. Korina said that she just respected the profession of trolls as they get paid for attacking the person they were told to attack. “E, pabayaan mo na sila, malalaki na sila, desisyon nila yun. At desisyon ko rin na huwag na silang pagpapansinin,” Korina said.
