LJ Reyes opens up about things surrounding her breakup with Paolo Contis
Kapuso actress LJ Reyes revealed the main reason for split with her long-time partner actor Paolo Contis.
LJ corrected that it was not a mutual decision. although she initiated the breakup at first. She stressed that she tried to ask Paolo to take them back but the latter refused to do so.
In an interview on Boy Abunda’s YouTube channel, LJ stressed that breaking her silence on the issue is not for herself but for her children as she wants to address “twisted stories”.
The actress also said that the reason why she and her kids Aki and Summer left is because she wants them to get out from the “situation” for their emotional and mental state.
LJ also stressed that the “third party issue” is the least of her concern as she was more concerned about her kids. “Sa totoo lang, kung anuman yung third party na sinasabi nila, it’s actually the least of my concerns. Kaya nga po ako nag-decide to speak up is because pag anak niyo na po yung nagagawan ng mali, I think kailangan mo sabihin na hanggang dito lang. Somehow, kailangan ko ilayo yung mga bata kasi kailangan maprotekahan sila,” she said.
When Tito Boy asked LJ asked what specifically the reason that concerned her children, she said that she does not want to elaborate on things because she does not want to say something that is not good.
“Ang gusto ko lang, e, wag magamit ang mga anak ko. Gusto ko lang maintindihan ng publiko bakit ako umalis at huwag na gumawa ng iba-ibang kuwento na ‘mutual,’ na eto, ‘Okay ang mga nangyayari,’” the actress said.
LJ, on the other hand, clarified that Paolo is not someone who would hurt her kids physically. She said that what happened was not easy for her two children and she hopes that Aki and Summer will be okay.
Towards the end of the interview, Boy Abunda asked if the reason for the breakup is money, LJ Reyes paused for a couple of seconds and answered, “Basta ang priority ko po ay mga welfare ng mga bata.” She did not answer also when Tito Boy asked her directly if there was a third party.
